Represented by Kate Ferlic, Gail Stoecker has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Miners’ Colfax Medical Center and the board of trustees of the Miners’ Hospital of New Mexico. According to the Albuquerque Journal the lawsuit states, “both parties of violating the New Mexico Human Rights Act and also of negligence.”
“Gail is a very brave individual for standing up to harassers,” said Ferlic. “It takes individuals like her to change society and ultimately force companies to comply with the law.”
Stoecker worked as an administrative assistant from February 2017 until June 2018 when she was terminated. Frequently she was discouraged from reporting sexual harassment from Brian Moffett who would tell Stoecker he liked that she had “big breasts” and would inappropriately hug and grab her. When she did file written complaints about Moffett’s behavior she was moved to a different office, overlooked for a raise and eventually fired.
