Taos Prosecutors are backing off their drug trafficking allegations against Ismael and Angela Adame of In and Out Plumbing, and are now pursuing a lesser offense of money laundering and tax evasion.
“The facts do not as a matter of law come within the definition of money laundering,” lawyer Todd Coberly statedin court Monday, arguing the state has completely changed its theory of the case.
Coberly and Angela Adame’s attorney, John Day, filed motions to dismiss the charges of money laundering, stating lack of evidence tying their clients to drug activity.
